A Creative Consultancy
There's usually a story behind how a project finds life. Very rarely is it the sole creative burst from the designer locked away in a dark room. It's more like solving a puzzle. A puzzle that unfolds through gaining an understanding of goals, stakeholders, deliverables and mission. When the puzzle comes together, a clearer picture is revealed.
Just about anything graphic based that leverages your business or nonprofit. A consistent, effective look can build the power of your brand.
I have been working with Adobe products for going on 15 years. It's amazing to me how far these tools have come and what can be accomplished.
I live and work in Evergreen, Colorado. When I am not working, I enjoy family life, playing tennis, cooking, listening to opera and mountain living.
+ my story
I grew up in Bloomington, Indiana, home to Indiana University. When it came time to choose a college, my hometown was the popular choice. Upon graduation and a move to Colorado, I put my degree in Communications to work in the field of advertising. Twelve fast years later I became trained as a graphic designer and started my own company. This was at a time when my most important (and demanding) job was as a stay-at-home parent raising my two kids. It was during this period that I also began life as a training and facilitation consultant teaching adult learning classes in the areas of recognizing sexual harassment, Equal Emplyment Opportunity compliance as well as providing leadership training.
After a brief stint as a teacher at my kids’ Montessori school, I am returning full-time to my design business with great enthusiasm and excitement about the possibility of working with small businesses and nonprofits to help them achieve their design and communications goals.
My formal education began at Indiana University where I graduated with a BA in Communications and Economics. Later I studied graphic design in Denver, CO at Metro State.
For 12 years, I worked as an account executive for a busy and successful agency, Graham Advertising in Colorado Springs. During that time I wore many hats. I was responsible for copy-writing, producing radio and TV commercials, laying out print materials all while acting as primary liaison between the client and the agency.
As a graphic designer, I have years of experience working in the for profit as well as nonprofit sectors.
+ my passion
I am a design geek. Design is everywhere we look. I am constantly looking at things asking "Does it work?" "What would I do differently?" I love that (whether we acknowledge it or not) we are changed forever when something moves us.
